WORLDS 2011 YEOSU

 September 23, 2011

Hi guys,

I just got back from the world championships in Yeosu, South Korea. I am really happy about the results and my experience. I think that in general everything went very good. At world’s I coached Belgium and in total the team won 6 medals one gold medal, 3 silver and 2 bronze.

Right after this last weekend I was in Duluth for the North Shore Inline Marathon, where I and POWERSLIDE USA had a mission… ”help 17-year-old brook Wright to achieve her goal of completing the half marathon”. Brooke had lost her vision this year during a surgery to remove a brain tumor and Kyle Joustra and I helped brook thru the half marathon.

Now I am returning to do my normal activities…coaching, working on my MBA and working with POWERSLIDE. Now I am at home…sweet home…

If you need something feel free to drop me an e-mail.

Septiembre 23, 2011

Hola,

Reviewing the TripleX2 Powerslide Frame
Written by Powerslide US

After a few weeks on my Powerslide equipment I am writing about one of the more underrated products that Powerslide has to offer. When it comes to frames there are a few common traits that make the difference between a good frame and a great frame.

The first test of a great frame is the weight. The Triple X2 is among the elite weighing in at just 210g for the 4x110 size frame. The 7005 Aluminum used  allows the frame to be ultralight without sacrificing the structure. A lightweight frame such as this one is beneficial for athletes wanting to reach the next level because it allows for more foot speed.

After the weight a great frame must be stiff. The Triple X2 has the X-Extrusion design for stiffness. You can find the 'X' design on the longitudinal profile, side wall, and bridges. The 7005 Aluminum is not only great for creating a lightweight frame but for maintaining the strength and stiffness of the frame.

The final test of a great frame is if it is responsive. In order to be a great frame it must be able to give back to the athlete. In tough situations a frame may be needed to give a little in certain areas to allow the athlete to get a solid push when conditions are not perfect, how quickly that frame can return to it's original shape is the response. The Triple X2 not only gives but it returns extremely fast allowing the athlete to get a superior push in less than perfect conditions without any hesitation.

In the end, I am very pleased with another Championship caliber product Powerslide has on the market. When I first put this frame on I was instantly pleased with the response it gave me when I had to skate indoor.

First day racing with Powerslide
Written by Powerslide US

"I just got done racing for the day here at Hickory, North Carolina, and it was my first time competing on the Indoor Matter Lethal wheels along with skating on the Powerslide Icon frame. I was previously skating on the Ion frame, and after just this one day of racing the Icon frame is what works best for me. It is a stiffer frame, and feels just as light as the Ion frame when you are on it. The stiffness allows for a full power transfer from my legs to the floor, without losing anything in between. The wheels were nothing like any other wheel I have skated on in the past. I have skated on a majority type of the wheels including, Hypers, Atoms, and IQ's and these wheels felt to be superior to me. By far one of the smoothest wheels I have every skated on, along with roll and grip that I have felt is superior to the other wheels I have tried. With this combined equipment I was able to reach the top of the podium in Standard Junior men, at the meet in Hickory, North Carolina.
